Lilly of The Valley believes in person-centered care. We take the time to find out what is important to the individual. We listen to the individual, and discuss what works and does not work regarding supports. We strive to understand how the individual communicates.
Person centered planning promotes the belief that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are people first. They have valuable gifts and contributions to bring to relationships with family and friends, and the community as a whole.
This allows us to recognize a person's uniqueness and identify supports that respect and accommodate that uniqueness.
